Before and After
I decided to choose this picture to fix. It comes from my iPhone and was taken during the snow storm. I fixed it with Brightness and Contrast among other options that I can't remember at the moment.
Composition #2
So here's my second composition. The background is not of TCNJ, it was taken somewhere else. This time around, I felt a bit more comfortable with using Photoshop and some of the tools to put the pictures together. Still a bit frustrating, but I'm getting there. I tried to make the dinosaur and the background blend in a little better, because i realized that the dinosaur is very sharp compared to the background. Overall, I like how this turned out.
Artists Summary
After looking through each of the four artist's works, I found myself liking Jeff Wall and Cindy Sherman's pieces. The reason I like Jeff Wall is because of how natural and realistic his photos are. They remind me of the simple every day things we encounter, but he has a way of twisting them around and making them more appealing.I liked Cindy Sherman's work because it centers itself around a certain style of the 70's decade. It's not something that is seem very often. Teun Hocks's style reminded me a bit of Salvador Dali. A lot of his pictures have a surreal feel to them because of what is going on, but the way that he is able to put the images together is incredible. Gregory Crew reminds me of Jeff Wall a bit. They both have somewhat the same sense of style, when it comes to picking photographs that capture real moments in life.

Putting Two Pics Together
Photoshop Picture
Alright, so this was the first time I have ever used Photoshop. It was tricky at first, trying to draw something with a mouse, so I decided to just make random lines everywhere and random circles here and there as I was playing around with the tools. I have no idea how this picture ended up being my "final creation". The smudge tool was my best friend towards the end because I liked how it worked and how it made certain colors look as they blended in together. So yeah, i'll call it a sunset/sunrise. haha.

Inherited Traits: Nina Katchadourian & Heidi Kumao
Upon entering the art gallery, my eyes fell directly towards the time-line. Nina Katchadourian's Genealogy of the Supermarket was a very interesting piece to look at. Seeing how all these foods that we see at our supermarkets interlink with each other made me think about how we are all somehow connected by food, an important resource humans need in order to live. Heidi Kumao also had very interesting pieces, one of which caught my eye. It was the Nightgown piece. She explained how it interested her because it shows the different stages in the little girl's life and all the while that she is growing, the nightgown stays the same.
